2016

The 62nd Annual Meeting of the Illinois Mosquito and Vector Control Association (IMVCA)was held in Springfield Illinois.  We had an excellent meeting and a great time was had by all!

The  IMVCA also held its Henry Lawicki Student/Intern Competition on November 17th.  Eight graduate and undergraduate students participated from the Department of Biological Sciences at Western Illinois University (WIU), the Department of Entomology at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Loyola University – Chicago, and the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS).  Judges awarded three students with cash prizes: Allison Parker (First Prize – $300), Kennan Hutchison (Runner Up – $100), and Jason Hunt (Runner Up – $100).  The remaining students received Honorable Mentions and were presented framed mosquito prints photographed by Alex Wild.
